cat fashionFeline fashion is a real up-and-coming area of the pet supplies industry as more and more doting owners decide to purchase treats for their cats and kittens. Cat fashion ranges from the practical to the completely outlandish and fun, but providing you keep an open mind and your sense of humour in tact you should have a good time picking out a real statement piece for your kitty.

One of the most popular items for cats is the personalized cat collar and name tag. Suede finish, leather makes, or even leopard print designs are favourites amongst cat owners, as is the colour hot pink and the decorations in diamante studs. Generally the aim is to make the cat as cute (or funny looking!) as possible, so owners will go to extreme lengths to find the most original and adorable accessories possible. This is why it is not uncommon to see costumes for cats in pet stores and pet supply sections – including Santa hats, reindeer ears, pumpkin and ghost costumes, angel and fairy outfits, and even costumes of other animals! Although these types of costumes may not be to everyone’s tastes, some people find them incredibly cute and rather amusing.

Two other popular forms of kitty fashion are the coloured claw-caps and the cat hair-dyes. The claw-caps are incredibly practical, particularly if your cat has sharp claws or makes a habit out of sharpening them on furniture or curtains. They are usually a plastic or rubber cap fitted over the exposed claw by your vet or pet groomer, and are completely harmless to the animal. Cat hair-dyes, on the other hand, have no real practical use – but some owners find that it sets their pet apart from the others. Designs and colours range from plain primary colours to whole rainbows.
